Activating Strategies:

Acceleration/Previewing/Vocabulary: (15 min)
  1. Teach meaning of "digital literacy" by having group discussion about what each individual word (digital and literacy) means.
  2. Discuss meaning of "digital" and complete Frayer Diagram with class on whiteboard (definition, characteristics, examples, non-examples)
  3. Discuss meaning of "literacy" and complete Frayer Diagram with class on whiteboard (definition, characteristics, examples, non-examples)
  4. Using completed Frayer Diagrams, create "class definion" of digital literacy.
Teaching Strategies and Distributed Guided Practice/Summarizing Prompts: (20 min)
  1. Launch "Are You Digitally Literate?" PPT with CPS Questions
  2. Encourage class discussion after each question.
